R600m Golf Club Estate Finally Gets Green Light
A R600-Million golf estate at the Oudtshoorn Golf Club has after four years received the go-ahead from Western Cape Environmental Affairs MEC Tasneem Essop.
Project manager Sarel Coetzee, a director of BC Design architects in George, yesterday confirmed that the project, the first of its kind in the Karoo, had recieved the go-ahead. “It was a long struggle but I think it was worthwhile,” he said.
He said building would begin this year and added that the development would bring a welcome cash injection for the Karoo town.
Coetzee said Oudtshoorn residents would get preferential treatment when it came to work opportunities.
The development will border a national heritage site, which is to be extended.
